Version 2.8.0: New Features, Enhancements, and Bug Fixes to Improve Your Experience

We’re excited to announce the release of TruShipment version 2.8.0, packed with new features and enhancements that are designed to streamline your workflow, improve transaction accuracy, and deliver a smoother user experience. In this update, we’ve focused on critical areas such as payment processing, user interface improvements, and data integrity, ensuring that you can continue to manage your operations efficiently and without interruption.

What’s New in TruShipment Version 2.8.0?

Enhancements:

Delete Confirmation: Safeguarding Your Data

We’ve added a delete confirmation feature to the Item Costing module to help prevent accidental data deletions. This confirmation step ensures that deletions are intentional and intentional removals are clearly communicated to users. Additionally, please note that packages cannot be directly deleted from the system; instead, they are voided. This new feature provides a consistent and predictable workflow across both delete and voiding actions.

Improved Payment Processing Flow: A Streamlined Experience

In this release, we’ve revamped the payment processing flow with a brand-new user interface (UI). The design has been optimized for efficiency:

  • The payment form is now relocated to the right of the charges listing for easy access.
  • Reference Number Field:
    • We’ve introduced a new input field where users can enter transaction details such as cheque reference numbers or card transaction reference numbers. This ensures smooth reconciliation between the system and your bank, making it easier to track payments.

By having this information reflected in both the accounting module and the package view, cross-referencing payments becomes effortless, ensuring accurate and transparent financial management.

“Cash Back” or “Change” Feature for Cash Transactions

We’ve added a cash change calculation display to assist with cash transactions. For example, if a customer pays $2,000 for a $1,996 transaction, the system will automatically calculate and display the $4.00 change due.

This feature improves accuracy and ensures that customers receive the correct change transparently and conveniently.

Improvements:

Enhanced Payment Processing Flow

In addition to the UI update, we’ve also improved the overall payment processing flow for better efficiency and usability, allowing for smoother and faster transactions.

Grayed Out Disable Entries

To improve usability, disabled entries are now visually distinguished by appearing grayed out. This visual cue makes it easier for users to identify inactive fields and ensures that the user interface is clean and clear.

Enhanced Rate Rules Calculator

The rate rules calculator has received an upgrade, allowing you to set starting initial values for weight and cubic measurements. This makes the calculations more customizable and accurate, enabling users to tailor the system to their specific needs.

Various System Improvements

In addition to these major updates, we’ve implemented numerous system improvements to enhance performance, stability, and the overall user experience.

Fixes:

Resolved Multiple Bin Movement Entries Issue

We’ve fixed the issue where multiple Bin Movement entries for the same bin were being created when applying charges. This fix ensures that charges are tracked accurately and prevents duplication, improving data integrity.

Addressed Multiple Entries for the Same Initial Package Comment

In the previous version, there was a bug where multiple entries with the same initial package comment were created during the editing process. This has now been fixed to eliminate duplicate entries and ensure clean data entry.

Corrected “Disable” Menu Option in Rate Rule Grid

The “disable” menu option in the Rate Rule grid no longer appears when a rule is already disabled. This update streamlines the user interface and prevents confusion, making it easier to manage your rate rules.

Restricted Picking Items Menu Options without Packages

The system now disallows picking items menu options if no packages are available on the packing list. This fix prevents errors and ensures that users can only perform actions when appropriate items are available.

Various Bug Fixes

We’ve also implemented a number of other bug fixes to improve the stability and functionality of the system, ensuring a smoother and more reliable experience overall.
